Scott Barnes Makeup

Scott Barnes' many successes and innovations have seen the makeup artist forge a formidable reputation. When he first arrived in New York in 1984, however, it was with the aim of becoming a fine-arts painter, and so he enrolled at the prestigious Parsons School of Design. Upon graduating, Scott assisted on fashion shoots and quickly set about gathering that impressive reputation, as his artistic talents migrated from the canvas to the face.

Years later, world-famous beauty icon Shu Uemura commissioned Scott to rejuvenate his Atelier Made line. It was a huge success, and encouraged him to launch his own color cosmetics range, which swiftly grew from 21 pieces to more than 130 as stylists and makeup aficionados demanded more and more from this unearthed gem, freshly emerged from the high-fashion landscape. Women's Wear Daily, in fact, named Scott 'Newcomer of the Year', which applied the perfect final touch to what had been a hugely successful launch.

Today, Scott continues to innovate, taking the artistic ambition that led him to New York all those years ago and distilling it into a series of truly exceptional formulas.
