Tatcha is a brand that celebrates classical Japanese beauty culture, from Kyoto all the way to San Francisco. Since launching in 2009, it has become one of the world's most sought-after skin care lines.
Tatcha was founded by Missouri-born Taiwanese American, Victoria Tsai. The journey started when Tsai left behind the corporate world to travel the East. Suffering with acute dermatitis and keen to learn more about kind-to-skin ingredients, she began the hunt for an evolved, holistic approach to beauty. Little did she know that an encounter with a modern-day geisha would change her life.
Once equipped with all the traditional Japanese beauty secrets (that less is more) and knowledge of ancient, time-tested ingredients, Tsai was inspired to create Tatcha. She recruited a team of scientists in both Japan and the U.S and got to work on developing skin care that not only suits fast-paced, modern life but honours ancient Japanese beauty practises. As a result, you'll find that Tatcha's formulas are kept simple and powered by the Hadasei-3 – a trio of anti-ageing superfoods (green tea, rice and algae) that originate from Japanese diets and geisha beauty rituals.
It is these innovative formulas, nutrient-rich ingredients and maximum results that have allowed Tatcha to become home to best-selling, award-winning products (The Water Cream, we're looking at you). Shop the entire collection today with Cosmetify.
