Safe and trusted sun protection that keeps children’s skin safe
While it's essential to keep your little one protected from harmful UV rays, gone are the days of smothering them with a thick layer of cream. Our supply of sunscreen for kids is fuss-free and made with safe, active ingredients that not only protect the skin but leave it soft and silky. Plus, our waterproof options make reapplication less frequent, so kids can splash in the pool as much as they like (and you can enjoy some well-earned downtime in the sun). Shop summer essentials with Cosmetify and uncover discounts on brands like Evy Technology, Riemann P20 and Lancaster in our kids' suncream sale.
FAQs about Sun Protection for Kids
1. Why is it important to use sunscreen on your children?
- Kids' skin is super delicate, way more than ours. They burn easily, and getting sunburnt when they're little can increase their risk of getting skin cancer in later life. Sunscreen keeps them safe from those nasty UV rays.
2. What SPF should you use for your children?
- You'll want a broad-spectrum sunscreen, SPF 30 at least. Broad-spectrum means it blocks both UVA and UVB. If they're really little or have sensitive skin, go for SPF 50+, just to be extra safe.
3. How often should you reapply sunscreen on your children?
- Every 2 hours at least. More often if they're in and out of the water, sweating, or you've dried them with a towel. Even if it says 'water-resistant', you still need to put more on.
4. What type of sunscreen is best for your children?
- Get one made for kids, they're usually gentler. Mineral sunscreens with zinc oxide or titanium dioxide are a good bet, and they're better for sensitive skin. Try to avoid anything with strong smells, parabens, or oxybenzone, they can irritate their skin.
5. How much sunscreen should you apply to your children?
- Don't be shy with it. Cover all the bits that are in the sun: face, ears, neck, hands, feet, everything. A teaspoon for their face and neck, and a shot glass full for their body is a good guide. And don't forget the tops of their feet and behind their ears, those bits get missed a lot.
