Body SPF
If you're one of the lucky ones who get to enjoy a fun-filled holiday this summer, alleviate the stresses of sunburn with a protective lotion that keeps your body safe, healthy and smooth. We offer lotions tailored to children too, though if you're honest, you're probably going to be the one who has to apply them.
Let's face it, life is better with a tan. Unfortunately, especially for those of us in rainy Britain, opportunities to achieve a natural tan come along far too infrequently – but that doesn't mean bronzed skin is out of reach! With our array of fake tan products, you can achieve that sun-kissed glow from the comfort of your home.
If you are lucky enough to be spending a few days in warm weather, make sure you protect your skin with our wide range of sun protection products. Don't forget SPF for the face or use a moisturiser with SPF to help protect your skin. Don't forget to check out our sunscreen sale to find the brands you love for affordable prices.
FAQs about Body Sunscreen:
1. Why should you bother with body sunscreen?
- It prevents sunburn, which is uncomfortable and damaging. More importantly, it helps prevent premature ageing like wrinkles and sunspots, and significantly reduces the risk of developing skin cancer by blocking harmful UV rays.
2. What SPF should you use on your body?
- SPF 30 is a good starting point for most people, blocking around 97% of UVB rays. If you have fair skin, are spending long periods outdoors, or burn easily, use SPF 50, which blocks about 98% of UVB rays. Always ensure it's broad-spectrum, protecting against both UVA and UVB radiation.
3. How do you wash sunscreen off your body?
- A regular shower with a quality body wash or shower gel is usually sufficient. For thick, water-resistant sunscreens, you might need extra effort. Use a washcloth or loofah for physical removal, and oil-based cleansers are effective at breaking down stubborn sunscreen residues.
4. How much body sunscreen do you need to apply?
- Use about a shot glass full, or roughly two tablespoons, of sunscreen for your entire body. Pay close attention to covering all exposed areas. Don't forget easily missed spots like your ears, neck, feet, and the backs of your hands, as these are just as susceptible to sun damage.
5. How often should you reapply body sunscreen?
- Reapply sunscreen every two hours for consistent protection. Reapply more frequently if you're swimming, sweating, or towelling off, even if the sunscreen is labeled "water-resistant." These activities can diminish the effectiveness of the sunscreen.
